Illegal police 'looting' in Hippo Valley, Zimbabwe
According to BBC News:
Scores of white-owned farms in Zimbabwe have been invaded since the country’s national unity government took office, a union chief has told the BBC.
Commercial Farmers Union President Trevor Gifford said 77 properties had been occupied in the last fortnight.
MPs, police, the military and Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe officials had taken part in the invasions, he said.

- I had talked with several people who knew about the future crisis such as Peak Oil, Global Warming, Climate Change, Planet X Pass by, Solar Storm or the basic total economic meltdown and ask them what is their plan(s).
I get a variety of answers and most goes like the following…
- I will kill myself
- I will stock up food for 2 years
- I will continue as per normal and work
- I will be mentally & physically prepared
- I will be ready to buck out of harms way
- I will migrate to overseas and use my money to buy a land to farm for food
Many of the answers are not properly thought out and does not give anyone 100% chance of survival, even though moving overseas on various lands that may or may not be fertile…the locals there may invade your properties and destroy everything you own.
Zimbabwe is a perfect example of the future we are looking at, hyperinflation & economic wasteland that depends on farms for subsistence yet because of serious widening rich and poor gap, the people including the MPs, police, the military and Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe officials starts to invade private properties to destroy, loot or take over the properties from their rich owners.
It’s the worst Mad Max scene where you alone cannot stop a mob of raving mad gangsters to invade your precious farms or “fort” and remove your possession & destroy your livelihood.
I believe some countries that have license to own guns maybe able defend their property however that may be only temporary unless you have a regiment of soldiers that can guard the property 24/7 and bobby trapped the surrounding area with motion detection trigger explosive.
However, this is not the Hollywood zombie movies…this is real life stuff.
Survivors of the next global holocaust are preparing to take the risk…take the chance to prepare for what they believe to be the end of our industrial age and back into the dark ages where every man carries a weapon for self defense.
Well, amusing to most that many may deny that such talks are from a doomer nut but isn’t the newspaper or your local news had declared that energy from fossil fuel may not be any easy to find anymore? Evidence of global warming & climate changes is evident to everyone, economic crisis are just showing it’s ugly head when millions around the world find themselves jobless and unable to secure a reasonable paying job.
If one day you find yourself jobless and unable to find jobs for few months…you say it’s ok, you got savings and family that are still working.
What if your money became worthless due to hyperinflation (Zimbabwe style) and all your family & friends are like you jobless in the streets?
You find yourself unable to squeeze into the local job fairs & unable to compete with foreign talents (China PHDs for dish washers anyone?) who had rushed into your countries like refugees to find jobs with high certification & lower starting pay…
You eventually got into the job scam that swindle your last savings to pay for the “referral fees” to a conman, broke and destitute with nobody to loan you money…you began to beg or rob people.
Some younger people end up looting supermarket in the masses for food & starts to protest loudly and publicly for more jobs creation.
Anger starts to flare and riot police began to hammer down your group of newly acquainted “beggar clan”, one of them died.
Revenge violence spread through the streets combing all the properties that the rich owned such as farms, condominium, private properties, supermarkets, shopping centres and mega retail stores…looting and stripping anything of value back to their make shift slums in the forested area.
Governments starts to clam down on illegal tapping of electricity by the slums and sends paramilitary police with machine guns to “clean up” the mess and chase away many people and many who are too weak to move got mowed down by gun fires.
Gangs starts to form within the slums that rumored to had acquired weapons from various sources, some say the some police or military defected …some say the weapon caches were looted previously.
The rich shop owners have to pay protection money against any “troubles” and soon there were turf wars between many different gangs and the police usually comes down and mow everyone down again…clean with machine guns.
By then nobody can afford electricity, food, clean water, computers or even that baby powder for the next generation.
The above is from my own imagination and not factual but may be possible if the economic crisis continues to grow in momentum and the fact that PEAK OIL may worsen the future economies even further spells doomsday for many.
Just how long can you last in concrete cities that have no land to grow food? And even if you find land overseas…can you defend it for long?
I think the solution is clear, we as human race MUST learn how to survive without money as soon as possible to be self sufficient…earlier rather then later.
Learn the following.
- Grow your own food using aquaponics
- Basic electronics to connect solar panels
- Water creation via Solar distillation
- Identify edible plants in the surrounding
- Better investment on skills & items of value
- Secure an property that have the basic security
- To know your neighbors
- Teach others on how to survive
- Share your experience safely
- Trust nobody except your instincts
- Prepare for the worst
