I have been receiving emails to ask me to reveal all the details and instruction on how to build it.

Firstly, it’s not completed yet so it’s not really responsible for me to put incomplete details out.

My idea is to teach people how to build it personally and hopefully with my students to teach others as part of their job.

Saving the world one step at a time should not hurry my friend. If I release it before it’s completed, it will risk having big companies (oil industry) will jump in and block this technology by patenting it and refuse to sell the patent rights.

Just how many technologies are hidden by patents anyway? Haiz

I had blogged about energy crisis in 2 blogs previously (simontay78.wordpress.com and this blog) and believe strongly in Peak Oil and the effects are totally overwhelming.

In Singapore, we are net importer of almost everything including oil & gas (100% imported) and also food (80-90% imported). Imagine my horror to learn about peak oil haha.

Read my blog and you can almost feel that I am desperate for a solution for myself. I wanted to save myself and hopefully the world. The idea is not to say that immediately the world will be saved but only save those who save themselves instead.

My friend (cannot name him) is much much worst than me and his experiences in Iraq told him to prepare for the worst. He had spent 2k on food and bought 8 sets of solar panels and more! Many thought he had gone “nuts” and say he is “Chicken Little” and had possibly ridiculed him totally. (Sound familiar?)

However, I believe his actions may had helped him get the last batch of “China Pork” before the stock totally gone last few weeks ago in my country.

Peak Oil is so unheard of in my country that most will just brush off the claim and say it’s another “cry wolf” or “Y2K” or “Dooms Day” conspiracy yet I had stick to my “believe” for almost 2 years until now.

Imagine what was my father’s reaction to learn that I spent all my money doing sustainable development like my Solar Powered LED Lights to light up my toilets, living room and my room.

I had tried but unsuccessful to grow indoor potatoes so that will be not my focus for now.

My latest project is to make a simple power generator that will simulate a windmill power generation by brush-less magnetic induction to magnetic coils using 3 phase connection. The Wheel achieve complete rotation by gravity, inertial and a small push by magnetic repulsion.

The wheel is just the first phase of sharing to the world how to DIY their own renewable energy and I am not going to mass produce this product to earn “big bucks”.

I know through reading the transcript by “John Titor” the time traveler that in future there will be 2 kinds of power generation…one of them is called the “Inverse Generator”.

“Inverse Generator” is named for the device is because it’s a inverse of a Electric Motor.

“Electric Motor” uses electricity run through the coil to create magnetic flux or magnetic fields to turn a permanent magnet inside the coil to rotate it. (Electric -> Magnetic -> Kinetic)

“Inverse Generator” uses movement of permanent magnet to turn the wheel and induce electricity to the coil as a generator.
(Now Hand Kinetic -> Magnetic + Gravity + Inertia -> Electric)

I am not here to earn huge amount of money but to create jobs for people who want to learn and teach but I understand the skepticism.

I do not want any investment from anyone as all these are built by cheap materials which I will keep it cheap for DIY people to lean how to build it cheaply.

We must survive as long as possible regardless of the situation and not by ending up in starving ourselves or slaving ourselves for electricity.

Hope this clear up my intention and hopefully get inspire you all to do your own research to prepare DIY renewable energy as well regardless if it’s windmill, solar panels or other types of renewable energy that does not disrupt prices of food, water and other source of essential fuels.

The project is not completed yet and please hold your comments until it’s done. It’s very sad that most people don’t appreciate inventors or creator’s plights and condemn even before achieving similar accomplishment.

I don’t want to keep on fighting those people who don’t like my demonstration and suspect those who cannot get the details of my design on the one-way crusade to criticize blindly and aimlessly.

Thanks for those people who supported me and encourage me, I will add my effort to build it more efficiently.

The current status is not complete which I did mention it in the beginning.

(I am trying to figure out to automate the movement of the big magnet and waiting to buy the components later!!)

One way is to add other energy conversion renewable energy into the loop like a solar panel to power a linear actuator to push the wheel…so the wheel actually convert solar, magnetic force, Gravity, Inertia into usable electricity.

The problem is how efficient will it be and how much more can it create…it’s a fight to the finish. I don’t want fame money or anything…just to build a system and create jobs and hope.

Please, help me root those naysayers away as it will only kill ambition and creativity.

Is the wheel always off balance with the magnet located just below it? If yes, why not give the wheel an initial push and see if it turn indefinately rather than moving the magnet in and out?

Overall nice work, I hope it work. With such momentum it highly than it can power many LEDs to light up a room.

Yes, the magnet is always below and uses gravity to gain momentum. The gravity is also working to and back hence the need of a additional magnetic push to cross the point of no return and let gravity take it’s course again.

The momentum + stored inertia will gather force together with precise timing of magnet repulsion will make the wheel accelerate accordingly.

That’s about it I can explain it via text…the rest I will teach face to face after it’s completed with induction of electricity using either single phase coil connection or complicated 3 phase connection

Oh I heard about Mythbuster trying it…weakly defended their position. They are not inventors but just trying out a design by some internet website. They don’t think of alternatives and solutions to solve the problems they face.

In terms of Cost of building it vs return of investment, this you have to ask why people buy solar panels and windmills at high cost and the break even period is about 10 years using current electrical tariff?

It’s because the future cost of electricity will be much higher…considering Singapore power is generated using 100% imported pipe natural gas (80%) and expensive fuels like bitumen (tarsands) and oil.

Indonesia is a OPEC country which recently in 2004 became net oil IMPORTER and had claim to cut gas export to japan by 2010. What then hold our future price of electricity? Singapore going to face a energy crisis in 2009 when liberalizations of electricity market starts. Your housing tariff will be paid when you use and the prices fluctuate according to demand and supply every 30 min.

Be prepare in 2012 when LNG terminal starts in Singapore as Liquefied Natural gas imported from far away countries like Qatar and Australia will be spot pricing traded in competition of demand from the world include CHINA, INDIA, USA, and many other countries like Japan and S. Korea.

By then, Solar panels will be in high demand and prices will soar till it’s not affordable.

My project is just something to cut cost in the future for myself and create jobs for others…and if you don’t like it…don’t learn how to build it later. Yes I am teaching it to people to build it in future and the students teach others as part of their job.

Please do find solutions to all the flaws of the system if you can, otherwise don’t make it like it’s a scam or something….I don’t want your money, investment or such.

Ans: I am not using a dynamo to generate the electricity, find out how new type of non-contact generator used by windmills. I am planning a magnetic induction on coils to generate electricity, the magnets don’t need to touch the coils hence not much resistance compared to normal hand cranked dynamo.

Ans: Thanks for your questions! For your question about generating a consistent and reliable voltage is however true, it’s just like solar panels that have efficiency of 15% now subjected to weather conditions similarly to windmills.

The common solution (by windmills) to solve this problem is a charge controller or bridge rectifier or Schottky diode to limit back-flow of electricity back to the coils from the battery. (Not tested yet so not sure correct or not, do correct me if I am wrong)

Once the battery is charged, the output will be much more consistent then normal and can use “inverter” to change the DC 12 Volts to AC 230 Volts at desired Wattage (depending on the inverter specification for power values)

I used a power inverter for 1000W hence can possibly run laptops and charge hand phones for a fully charged lead acid battery.

Do check out the video featured in my solar LED project on how to use the inverter to power a Television using a fully charged lead acid battery (big ones). ^_^

Ans: Yes, it’s not generate more energy but a carrier of energy…a Force instead. It requires my magnet repulsion to gather the inertia. Use a string and tie to a rock and swing it round for a minute and release it, the hand kinetic energy had gain in force call the Inertia and once the hand release it this force will propel it forward. Gravity makes sure it goes down and air resistance will slow it down.

Ans: There is no handle here (yet) to push the wheel, I am planning a more efficient way to push the wheel using the magnetic repulsion such as another renewable energy such as wind or solar. The charged battery can push the big magnet with a linear actuator set up with sensors (or switch).

The challenge is how to make it use less energy so that the net gain in energy is more then energy input hence gathering higher EROEI.

Net efficient gain is small doesn’t means it cannot be scaled up, small size windmills might have even lower gain…but it’s build across countries in California.

Ans: Heat is generated continuously by chemical reactions (Sun, fire, steam, boiling, etc.) and also waste heat from other energy sources around us.

The reset button for waste heat is much more easier to set but almost all of them requires energy that can be traced back to fossil fuels or renewable energies.

Yes, heat energy can be tapped using Sterling Engine (Temperature Differences) used in California if I am not wrong…Sunlight reflected off a discs to a Sterling Engine to create pulsating generator.

Back flow of electricity can be limited using Bridge Rectifier (to change AC to become DC) or Schottky Diode (one way) or an expensive off the shelf “Charge Controller” that only allow one direction of electricity flow to charge the battery.(Correct me if I am wrong).

Wasted Energy comes in many forms the current problems about tapping gravity and magnetic forces are the equal and opposite energy/force is required to “reset” them at the original position so to be tapped again.

My idea is to “Reset” the gravity and Magnetic force to the “point of no return” and let it comes down again to reset it. This will gather momentum force call “Inertia” and with precise timing of my hand movement to accelerate the speed of rotation.

As I had mentioned in the first post, it’s not completed yet. I need to automate the hand movement to push the big magnet to the wheel for the repulsion to happen automatically.

1. A magnetic strip is not place directly on the circumference of the wheel….it’s a precise placement of magnets in currently secret positions on the wheel.

Ans: The energy to move the big magnet can be automated by another simple motor linear actuator powered by solar. Obviously the movement of the big magnet does not need to travel large distance and forces of resistance can be reduced by other means…that I will demonstrate later in future video or face to face teaching.

Yes, I am not going to mass produce it as I am going to spread this out as a job inducing courses to teach people like you how to make one CHEAPLY at COST PRICE. This very action will limit the lure of big businesses trying to mass produce it at a profit which does not benefit the world but only to that business owner.

My plan is set up a company to spread this education as franchises so that students can teach this as part of their job. They can make this generator for their own consumption or friends using DIY methods at low cost…but they don’t do it at huge volume for profits as many other people will soon learn how to build it themselves.

The important thing is support from peers…with guidances to maintain the device and continue to use it for the rest of their lives and pass the knowledge to next generation.

Once the equilibrium of knowledge reach maximum (Best Case Scenario) world carrying capacity will be increased as more energy are created to support it…

on the contrary to what you feel about patents. Whenever a patent is applied, it has to disclose fully the entire workings. This is done so that people can understand how technology has progessed and the inventors can be protected by not having their designs leeched.

I do hope you document the entire process in case a similar design arises, you can show proof that you did not copy any body’s design.

If I can make a light bulb using a pencil lead (the inner-side of a wooden pencil) and connect it with big 12 Volt lead acid battery and all these done by DIY methods, does it need any patent? Find it in Metacafe videos.

China manufacturers can duplicate any designs for their very own profits for millions of dollars.

Some China manufacturer had even pirate Memory cards to the exact size,shape and brand…with only slight inferior quality.

In order to defend from piracy even with expensive patents applied and not 100% approved…is mass DIY knowledge by millions of people.

If millions of people can DIY cheaply at cost price minus those pirates profiting from the technology then this “Open Source” technology will be a skill set base instead…like an certification of electrical engineering but instead a certification of “Renewable Energy” Engineering.

yes, many designs of world renewable energy are similar to each other and many cannot mass produce such designs as there are patents law!! So, many will avoid buying any solar panels or wind mills or other power saving environmentally friendly devices citing high cost as the reason.

Patents + Profits hungry businessmen + manufacturers margin + distributors + inventors profit sharing + retailer margin = Not cost effective.

In the new world of post high cost of energy, money will not be valued equal amount over time as hyper-inflation kicks in.

Correct me if im wrong but that appears to be a motor and nothing more. it seems to me the “energy” produced is directly proportional to the movement of the larger magnet MINUS the wind resistance and friction heat generated. so it seems what you have is a well balanced magnetic and gravitationally assisted kinetic drive motor completely incapable of producing more enrgy than it recieves from the movement of the magnet. now if you do find a way to make the magnet move on its own for 0 energy cost then the device moving the magnet will be your generator and the motor/wheel device you have made will be obsolete.

While solar power systems are preferable in locations that have an extensive amount of sunlight and while home windmills are popular at areas with constant flow of wind, the greatest benefit of a magnetic power generator is that you it can function in all weather, in all temperature, does not take up any substantial amount of space and is completely clean and totally free.
