North Korea Chicken out, while China Freeze with Coal Shortage

According to nz.news.yahoo.com

YEONPYEONG ISLAND, South Korea (AFP) – North Korea forswore retaliation against a South Korean live-fire drill and held out an olive branch over its nuclear drive, raising hopes for an easing to the region’s worst crisis in years.

The communist state said it “did not feel any need to retaliate against every despicable military provocation”, despite previously vowing a deadly riposte to the South’s drill on the border island of Yeonpyeong

SHANGHAI – Communities in central and northern China are facing power cuts and rationing as winter coal supplies fall short of surging demand.

Cold weather and transport disruptions typically cause shortages most years, but the problem has been complicated by coal producers’ unhappiness over price controls that are crimping their profits.

The disruptions to supply appear to be worst in major coal producing regions such as Henan, where 40 percent of coal-fired power plants had fuel reserves equivalent to no more than three days of demand, according to a report on the State Grid’s website.

TOKYO – Asian stock markets rose Tuesday as tensions on the Korean peninsula eased a few notches.

Investors spent the previous day worried about possible North Korean retaliation against South Korean military drills on a frontline island that was shelled by the North last month.

Instead, Pyongyang backed off threats to strike back and reportedly offered concessions on its nuclear program.

All of the above are result of North Korea backing off any military retaliation in event of South Korea conducting of military exercises.

I think either China had finally pressured North Korea down or given North Korea sufficient aid to “calm down” while both country now suffer one of the harshest winters in the coming days.

Could this event is a simple begging for humanitarian aid by bad boy North Korea using the usual hostage situation to blackmail the region into negotiation & resume more “6 party talk” which may means exchanging of food for nuclear disarmament.

However, if China & South Korea cannot help North Korea in the future…due to unforeseen circumstances…will North Korea really carry out their threats?

Let’s pray they will not, politics & the strategy of conflict negotiation is a very complex chess game that not many countries can decipher North Korea’s next move.

South Korea just ended their military exercise, balls in North Korea’s court

According to theglobeandmail.com

South Korea fired live artillery Monday in a drill from a front-line island where similar exercises sparked a deadly North Korean bombardment last month, pressing forward in defiance of the North’s warnings to attack again.

However, a few hours earlier, according to CNN:

North Korea has agreed to a series of actions, including the return of U.N. inspectors, following discussions with Bill Richardson, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer said Monday.

It seems that North Korea had already tried very hard not to go into war by agreeing to the return of the U.N. nuclear inspectors however its seems to be too late as the South Korea’s military exercise had already started.

Now that the military exercise had stopped, the ball is now in North Korea’s court to see if they play ball to their “threats”.

Option 1, North Korea don’t do any more provocation & get subdued into U.N. inspectors
Option 2, North Korea revoke previous agreement & banish any hope of U.N. inspectors to enter North Korea and began artillery retaliation with full Nuclear options on the table.

It’s obvious that option 2 don’t have much benefit to North Korea unless they shoot missiles that “drops” into the sea & claim to be their own “military exercise”.

However, any military movement now can easily sparks a full fledged war from the South Korea & USA too if any of North Korea’s military exercise suffer from any kind of “accidents”.

It seems now it’s almost inevitable to have a war & should focus on the consequences in event a war to start and that must take into account on how far & wide this war will spread.

The problem now is how North Korea will retaliate and where and how.

Conventional war is already outdated and that may means either NBC (Nuclear, Biological or Chemical) war or cyberwar but I do not know if cyberwar can do any damage to North Korea.

However, we cannot rule out the possibility of a standard conventional war first before using the NBC options which may have lot’s of collateral damage.

Another option is High Altitude Nuclear Blast to send multiple EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse) down to North Korea disabling most electronics & hopefully their nuclear capabilities without high collateral damages.

However, this may means bringing North Korea into the dark ages where electrical appliances will cease functioning to most of their country creating a humanitarian crisis.

North Korea’s military may use terrorist attack option to activate terrorist cell(s) in “enemy’s” countries & start NBC attack at there or even start to send smaller yield nuclear warhead towards South Korea via artillery or ICBM missiles.

China will have their hands full accepting refugees from both North Korea & South Korea and if North Korea happen to lose the war…or on the verge of losing …China may enter the war again as China may not want an USA allies to be at China’s border.

Let’s pray that the above scenario don’t happen as there will be loads of casualty of war.

Nuke Fears Seeping Through The world

According to Dailyrecord.co.uk:

BRITAIN has condemned a nuclear weapon test carried out in secretive North Korea, which Prime Minister Gordon Brown warned will undermine the prospects for peace in the region.

The underground explosion, in the north east of the country, was carried out earlier today and is reported to have been many times larger than a previous test in 2006.

The move will significantly ratchet up international tension over the nuclear and missile ambitions of the Pyongyang regime, which was censured by the United Nations for a rocket launch on April 5.

US president Barack Obama said today a nuclear test constituted an act of “blatant defiance” of the UN Security Council and a violation of international law.

In a statement issued by 10 Downing Street, Mr Brown said: “I condemn North Korea’s nuclear test in the strongest terms as erroneous, misguided and a danger to the world.

The fears of Nuclear Holocaust may just begin from now on with a nuclear arms race had just been restarted with Iran & North Korea ignored the international condemation.

North Korea seems to let the cat out of the bag earlier as a sort of deterance and Iran who are buddy buddy with North Korea are testing satelites before North Korea shot their very own “satelites”.

This seems that North Korea Nuclear Test coincides with Iran recent missile test hence with a little brain storming, there might be a connection to these 2 countries….

What will the world be doing against North Korea? or even Iran?

Will World War III start upon these 2 countries? Will the world end from a or multiple mushroom clouds everywhere and we shall see that movie “The Road” in the future in the REAL time.

Or, North Korean prefer to blow lot’s of electronics off the grid by doing high altitude nuclear explosion causing extremely high EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) onto a large city size area surging all the electricity within a closed circuits that may be exposed to the EMP…will all be fried.

Planes will fall from the sky, trains will halt, all cars cannot be restarted, computer controlled traffic lights goes dark, lights go off permanently, water treatment plants goes offline, internet goes down, all data from youtube disappears and other possible human reaction related end of days scenario will erupt in a few hours time.

People will wipe out the supermarket clean in a few hours, looting will goes rampant, fire will not be extinquish, police will fire in random on angry crowds who are hungry and thirsty.

City wide evacuation to nowhere for food scavanging for food & water will be terrible if the whole city is affected..or the world…is affected.

If everywhere is affected…the doomsday effect will come as human goes cannibalistic and hunt for food.

What can you do to survive? Don’t FIGHT THIS WAR and give North Korea their food and stay away from the ultimate doom of nuclear holocaust.

Oil Prices On The Rebound…Testing Resistance Soon.

6th April 2009 Light CL Chart

6th April 2009 Light CL Chart

Looking at the chart attached, you can easily see what is the trend now that the oil had rebounded back and soon to test the resistance level.

It crisis in North Korea might had partially affected oil prices as Iran IS a close ally to the communist state, if there is a war…Iran probably join in the fight or mix into the chaos and “kick the ass of Iran’s own enemy”.

Now that the “rocket” had been launched and not much information was revealed on the nature of the rocket.

The North Korea official says it’s a successful launch of the satelite yet there are news that it’s a failure…It’s hard to determine who is right or wrong but it’s the “measure of success” that is important.

To North Korea, shooting the “satelite” may have two milestones…

  1. Test if they can shoot a satelite – probably military in nature – into space
  2. Test if they can shoot a missile further then previous prototype

Either this two goals is reached, it’s a success.

Obama is obviously furious on the very idea that North Korea even dare to launch the rocket even thou he had given North Korea plently of chance for peaceful negociation.

Now the punishment may be more severe then what BUSH may had given as previously Bush had ignored “rouge” nations that have no oil.

Obama will be the actual leader that actually care for the world regardless if they have anything in return…and this might be just the begininig of the new era of peace….or pure anachy.

Now that N.Korea basically thinks they are “invunerable” to outside attacks regardless of economic sanctions or threats of military “punishment”, what will be the decision of the world leaders?

Catch the next installment of this highly anticipated drama as we watch the oil price rise above the support level or goes down punishing the oil investors…time will tell.

Defiant North fires rocket

Obama leads global condemnation; Security Council to meet Monday

SEOUL/TOKYO – BRUSHING aside warnings from the international community, North Korea launched a long-range rocket yesterday, putting another wrinkle into efforts to denuclearise the North and raising tensions in the region.

The rocket hurtled over Japan within seven minutes of liftoff at 11.20am local time from the North’s north-east coast.

For some tense moments, Japan’s military, which had been given authority to shoot down any threat to its soil, watched the rocket fly through its territory. North Korea had warned that any attempt to block its launch or intercept the rocket would be tantamount to war.

The rocket traced out its predicted flight path, dumping its first stage booster – the engine – into the ocean 280km west of Japan, and its second booster 1,270km in the Pacific Ocean east of the Japanese coast.

Four hours after the launch, Pyongyang declared it a success.

‘The satellite is orbiting Earth and transmitting the melodies of the immortal revolutionary paeans Song Of General Kim Il Sung and Song Of General Kim Jong Il, as well as measurement data back to Earth,’ the state-run Korean Central News Agency said, referring to praise music for North Korea’s late founder and his son, its current leader.

But the US military said that no object entered orbit. The final two stages of the rocket and its payload – the part carrying the satellite – landed in the Pacific Ocean, according to North American Aerospace Defence Command and US Northern Command officials.

Words Must Mean Something

Words Must Mean Something

- this means either the N.Korea knew about it’s satellite failure but success on testing the range if a longer range missile.

Cloak and dagger scenairo here, even the press dare not leak any information if the missile was shot down or not.

The problems is KoRea had threaten war if the ‘Satelite’ is shot down.

Obama had just got his first taste of serious threat of global poportion, what will he and his advisors decide to do to punish north Korea?

Does it means more economic sanctions which obviously did not work previously or international condemation or military actions?

Time will tell…
