Survivalists stock up for End of Days

According to RussiaToday:

They are ready for a catastrophe of a global scale every minute of their lives and are prepared to meet the challenge wherever they are – at home, in the office, or just walking about.

The people who lay salt and canned food in stores all year around do not surprise experts anymore.

In St. Petersburg alone, there are more than 10,000 getting ready for the End of Days right now, informs Petersburg Business.

This popular and quite-often quoted book is no less than an inventory of the resources of our planet (most of the book is graphics and tables). The author makes a conclusion that by 2033, the resources will end, and people will be busy resolving the problem of overpopulation by killing each other by all convenient means. The verdict of this tract is simple – earth cannot bear more than 2 billion people, the rest are needless.

Several years later, another Russian writer Dmitry Glukhovsky published his ‘Subway 2033,’ which strangely enough repeats the magic date, and is completely dedicated to the problem of survival in the system of Moscow’s subway stations after the world is destroyed in a global nuclear conflict.

Russian survivalists call this speculative catastrophe the SHTF-day. Leaving aside atomic bomb shelters that were built everywhere in the USSR some twenty years ago, ‘survivance’ as a trend became popular in Russia in the early 2000s, when Russian scientist Valentin Ponomarenko published his ‘Problem 2033.’

Yes, Survivalists is preparing for the ultimate end of days and one of my friends had sent me this article as a way to tell me to prepare more for the following.

He suggested to me the following

  1. BLOCK all my internet connection just in case a world wide internet connection shut down (Recently Google proven that it can be done easily) and use some software to block the HTTP access.
  2. Destroy my electronics appliances such as my computer & iPhone and others.
  3. Prepare for sustainability

I guess he does meant good for me just in case the world ends this coming days, months or years while multiple number of doomsday scenario had cropped up recently in several research such as the below.

  1. Space storm alert: 90 seconds from catastrophe
  2. Swine Flu
  3. Peak Oil

This is scary for the above already but there are many other disasters such as how “Global Warming” will burn you or melt the ice caps and drown you or simply some new Tsunami to attack suddenly or supervolcanos to explodes suddenly to cause the end of the world.

Another scary scenario is a global nuclear holocaust caused by the third world war when the middle east erupt into a fiery ball of fire forcing certain countries to activate their “doomsday” nuclear device automatically due to a sudden invasion or military strike.

Well, I can’t really say I am fully prepared for the end of the world…but all I can say is my projects is pointing towards a skill level kind of trying to survive the future.

However, I can’t say I have all the skills to survive a total blackout of internet and I haven’t solve the energy problem for individuals or solving food shortages.

Any suggestions that I should know about how to survive the future catastrophe.
